Makaki Music is a Swedish independent record label founded in 2006.
The label is built entirely around the music of Sofia Talvik — singer-songwriter, guitarist, and one of Sweden’s most extensively toured artists in the United States — including her Swedish-German folk side project, Hansan.
Since 2006 we’ve released more than ten full-length albums alongside a steady stream of singles and EPs — records that have charted on Folk Radio USA, drawn airplay from the BBC and NPR, and earned coverage from The New York Times, Americana Highways, Americana-UK, and Bluegrass Today.
Beyond releasing music, Makaki Music handles management, production, and promotion — from the studio to the road.
